Bank Data Conversion Service for NAV 2015

Few months ago, when I wrote about Posting Groups and Payment Posting, I got a few comments about some related topic. This topic was a Bank Data Conversion Service for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015 as part of the improved reconciliation capabilities. This service hosted on Microsoft Azure is delivered by AMC Consult A/S and provides automatic processes fro electronic payments, payment reconciliation and bank account reconciliation in NAV.

I didn’t have enough time to write about this topic, but now Microsoft has published article about this topic. Sorry to my followers because I didn’t finish it faster then Microsoft, but I can help them with relations to information. You can find a lot of information and additional documents (pptx and videos) on Partner Source: https://mbs.microsoft.com/partnersource/global/readiness-training/readiness-training-news/BankDataConversionServicebyAMCConsult.

New Dynamics Logos

Microsoft has decided to change Dynamics logos in the spirit of “One Microsoft” idea. This change has made on July 30. All partners have to use these new logos when represent Microsoft Dynamics logo and solutions. All directions are in the Product Tile Usage Guidelines.

OneMicrosoft

On some places on internet, you can find a small mistake. You can find “CS” instead of “C5”. This error is most likely caused on MicrosoftDynamicsPartnerGuidelines.pptx (slide 21) from Partner Source. But, you can find actual logos on this page on Partner Source: https://mbs.microsoft.com/partnersource/northamerica/sales-marketing/branding-guidelines-logos/MSDY_BoxShots. You can download all of them as PNG or EPS. I hope, Microsoft will correct this small mistake in document, because this pptx is very useful. You can find a lot of additional helpful information here.

With new NAV release, there will be again some exciting news. Also, a DLP page (Microsoft Dynamics Learning Page) will have some new e-courses about NAV 2016, soon.

New Dynamics ‘Give Me 5’ Promotion

Few days ago, Microsoft has published new “Give Me 5” FY16Q1 customer promotion. New customers that buy license between now and end of September can get Starter Pack + 2 Full Users for 6000USD. But I have to underline that this is available for US market only.

Unfortunately, we have not explanation why this promotion is only for US market. Only we know, this promotion is valid for Microsoft Dynamics NAV and GP and for new customers on US market.

I hope, we will get the same promotion in the rest of the world soon. The same promotions help us every time in competition with the local solutions and in undecided potential customers. I hope it will be good for Microsoft and for partners altogether.

NAV and Windows 10 again

Month ago, I’ve wrote about using of Microsoft Dynamics NAV on Windows 10. I tested NAV ‘Corfu’ CTPs on Windows 10 prerelease versions. By my opinion future release NAV 2016 will works excellent on Windows 10. Today, Microsoft officially publish the same information, NAV 2016 is compatible with Windows 10. In the same article, we can see that older NAV versions have some problems on Windows 10, but by my opinion not big. You can find more about it in my older post, but Microsoft says it will be corrected in cumulative updates in October, but only for NAV 2015, NAV 2013 R2 and NAV 2013.

You can download Cumulative Update 10 for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015 from here. This CU is named as Build 42222. Also, you can download Cumulative Update 22 for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 from here. This CU is named as Build 42221.

What is a Cloud Sure Step?

Cloud Sure Step is a new Microsoft program. This program should evolve the Road to Repeatability (R2R) program. The main goal of this program is to make an ease transition to the cloud for the most of partners. The NAV team has promoted this new program to WPC 2015 attendees, with the goal of transitioning more partners to cloud-based deployments that focus on fast, repeatable implementations that bring partners’ own IP and vertical specialization to bear.

This is something that we could expect, as second part of Satya Nadella’s mantra “Mobile-first, Cloud-first”. With the newest NAV version, we will get new Azure and O365 integration enhancements, and it is naturally that we can expect more and more cloud based NAV implementations. The most important is that some of these enhancements will decrease cost of NAV deployment on Azure (e.g. using Azure SQL…).

Because of that, you can see that Cloud Sure Step is actually completely strategy, not only some lesson. Microsoft wants to prepare all NAV partners for the future. Because NAV in this new vision uses Azure and O365 as base, Microsoft has prepared Cloud Sure Step in two parts for both of their bases and you can find here more about it for Microsoft Azure and for Office 365. Using these information, you can learn everything from the beginning to the end: what are the Azure and O365, overview of these products and how to grow and optimize your business.

More details about Cloud Sure Step will come at fall partner events. If you are planning to be on Directions EMEA or Directions NA this October, you can find Cloud Sure Step sessions.

CRM Online and NAV2016

If you still remember, Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016 (ex ‘Corfu’) will works natively with Dynamics CRM Online. Enabling this integration will be very simple to install and setup and it will works with a default setup. I will not write about this integration jet, because it is still by NDA.

I want to say that this is a great feature because CRM Online is extraordinarily listed on the market. It can make a great opportunity in repeatability NAV implementation model.

I have just found a Gartner research about Sales Force Automation. Gartner marks MS Dynamics CRM Online and MS Dynamics CRM as Leaders. Besides them, you can find only Salesforce in this Leader Quadrant.

GartnerMagicQuadrantCRM

This is really good position for MS CRM and CRM Online. With them, this is good opportunity for NAV 2016, as well. You can find here more about it research.
